In light of the previous post, what can Christian leaders do in their pursuit of faithful ministry to the Glory of God? Simply stated, leaders in Christian ministry should anchor their work in the gospel, find strength in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, and reject worldly metrics of success. Core responsibilities for the ministry include, at a minimum, the following.
1. Guard the deposit: View ministry as a privileged calling to defending and confirming the gospel rather than yielding to fear or defensiveness.
2. Avoid false motivations and value ordinary faithfulness. Reject the pursuit of power, wealth, or easy social approval; instead, pursue God's standard of faithfulness.
3. Prioritize the Word: Stay deeply immersed in daily Bible reading and study to feed your own soul before you feed others.
