What kind of church is Northmoreland Baptist Church?
Northmoreland Baptist Church is committed first to the teaching and preaching of Scripture. We believe that God has revealed all that is necessary for life and salvation in the Scriptures, and thus all of our ministries are centered on the careful study of the word of God. We believe that the gospel is of first importance – that Jesus died for sinners and rose again for our sins – and we teach Christ and his cross work are the only way a sinner can be forgiven. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we seek to do life together in light of the grace of the gospel.
What happens on a typical Sunday morning?
Each Sunday morning, we have a Sunday school that meets in our chapel at 9:00 am. This is a more informal time of Bible teaching and discussion.
The Sunday morning worship service begins at 10 am. We encourage congregational singing to the Lord. We lift our voices to the Lord through both traditional hymns and contemporary choruses. The service includes the reading of the Scriptures and a time of prayer. The Bible is preached expositionally – meaning that the text is explained contextually and then practically applied to our lives.

NBC has been sharing the good news of Jesus Christ since 1850. We are a Bible-based, Christ-centered, people-focused church. We exist for the glory of God, to make disciples, and to serve Jesus Christ through the church.
By glory, we mean the exaltation of God. All that we do is for the glory of God (1 Cor 10:31), publicly and privately, corporately and individually. Everything we do and say is for the “sake of His name.”
By discipleship, we mean making disciples (Mt 28:18), which includes evangelism and teaching. Discipleship is a personal and persistent effort to walk worthy of the Lord and to make disciples. Northmoreland Baptist Church exists to honor God by making & maturing disciples who are becoming like the Lord Jesus Christ.
By through the Church (Mt 16:18), we mean through the spiritual body of which Christ is the head (Eph 1:22; Col 1:16; Eph 4:15; 5:23). Through the local church, believers who are baptized on an acceptable confession of faith (Acts 10:47-48 ), partner for worship, edification, evangelism, and fellowship (Acts 2:42; Eph. 4:7, 11-16; Heb 10:25).
Therefore, our Vision is to glorify God through Jesus Christ, to display His grace and wisdom to the world through God’s program for today, the church (Ephesians 2:7, 3:6, 10).
